New Delhi: After the massive success of Dhurandhar, the makers have officially announced Dhurandhar Part 2: The Revenge, and the buzz around the sequel is already intense. The film is set to hit theatres on March 19, 2026, and this time, it is going much bigger than before.
Multi-Language Release to Expand Reach
One of the biggest highlights of the announcement is the film’s pan-India release plan. While Dhurandhar Part 1 released only in Hindi, the sequel will arrive simultaneously in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
According to the makers, this move was driven by overwhelming demand from audiences in South India, where the first film found strong support on OTT platforms and dubbed versions.
Festival-Friendly Release Date
The chosen release date falls during a festive window, coinciding with Eid, Gudi Padwa, and Ugadi. Trade analysts believe this could give Dhurandhar 2 a strong opening across multiple regions, especially with family audiences returning to theatres during the holiday period.
Original Cast and Crew Are Back
Director Aditya Dhar returns to helm the sequel, continuing the story he set up in the first part. Ranveer Singh will once again step into the role of undercover intelligence agent Hamza Ali Mazari.
The sequel also brings back Akshaye Khanna as the antagonist and Sanjay Dutt in a pivotal role. The ensemble cast further includes R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun, promising another intense and layered narrative.
Story Continues From the Cliffhanger
Dhurandhar Part 2 will pick up directly from the cliffhanger ending of the first film. The story continues to explore a decade-long Indian intelligence operation that penetrates deep into Karachi’s criminal and political underworld.
The makers have hinted that the sequel will be darker, more personal, and higher on emotional stakes, with larger action set pieces and deeper character arcs.
Part 1 Box Office Success Set the Stage
Released on December 5, 2025, Dhurandhar turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. The film reportedly earned over ₹640 crore net in India and crossed ₹1,000 crore worldwide during the Christmas weekend.
It also surpassed major releases like Jawan and Stree 2 to become the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025, giving the franchise strong momentum heading into its sequel.
Big Box Office Clashes Expected
The March 2026 release date sets up potential high-profile box office clashes with Yash’s Toxic and Adivi Sesh’s Dacoit. While this could divide screens and audiences, trade experts believe Dhurandhar 2 has enough franchise value and star power to hold its ground.
With a successful first film, a pan-India release strategy, and a story that continues from a gripping cliffhanger, Dhurandhar Part 2: The Revenge is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films of 2026.
